RAA teamed up with the Richmond Public Library to provide a reading session for the library’s summer reading program.
Our staff read books to young children and gave them a tour of our one of our ambulances. The summer reading program is an important way to help a child maintain and even increase his or her literacy skills. Studies show that children who don’t read over the summer can develop what some call the “summer slide.”
We were happy to help and we may have even recruited some future EMTs and Paramedics.
